च cha

It is pronounced as ’cha’, like the sound at the start of the English words ch-ain, ch-art, ch-urch

Example: The Hindi word starting with (च cha) is चाय chai means ‘tea’.

 

छ chha

It is pronounced as ’chha’ and is the aspirated version of च cha

Example: The Hindi word starting with (छ chha) is छाता chhata means ‘umbrella’.

 

ज ja
